Use of Symbols in The Scarlet Letter       In World Book Dictionary, a symbol is defined as something that cornerstones for or represents something else, especially an idea, quality, or condition. Symbols can be objects, characters, figures, or colors apply to represent ideas or concepts. In the raw The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, there are many symbols that are passim the novel.
